Suitable for beginners, same effects as watercolors but easier to use

Great brush pens! They are very pigmented and rich. The colors mix/blend well and you can control how they look like markers or watercolors depending on the paper you use and the amount of water. The tips are long and pointed, so you can create strokes of different thicknesses depending on how hard you press. I was able to draw lines as thick as the letter "l" in 10pt when the brush was held lightly, and nearly 1cm thick when the thick line was slanted. You can use them in regular coloring books IF the pages are single sided. , but put a piece of clean paper underneath just in case so it shows through as the painting paper can be very thin. On watercolor paper they look like watercolor paints in tubes. There are many colors so you don't have to worry about mixing the perfect color, and the set also includes two empty water brushes for mixing and spreading color. The only downside is that you have to orient the pens correctly when you put them in the plastic case to be 100% sure and there are no color names or numbers on the cases. They also come with a paper pad that has a light outline for use with the free YouTube tutorials available from the brand. Because it's real watercolor paper, it's thick enough to use the unprinted backing for additional painting. The tutorials are VERY beginner friendly and walk you through the whole process step by step. My product photo shows a pear that I painted. Far from being an artist, I haven't painted with watercolors in 10 years after trying these pens.
