New bearings should be smooth, but not spin freely. Worn bearings spin freely. In time the wear results in bearings being so loose the housing gets torn apart. These bearings spin freely. Not sure if I’ll keep as cheap spares or return. They could be fine, or fail much more quickly than manufacturer’s bearings. In any event, I’ve also purchased factory bearings and they seem to be of much better quality. Often we get just what we pay for. Might be cheaper for a reason, but are they worth the aggravation of having to replace after only a few mowings?
