descent of a cup of espresso, but not the best I've brewed. My favorite has always been an old Starbucks barista machine I bought 13 years ago and it's only recently started to sound like it's about to bite. So I bought these based on the reviews and the price was reasonable - a brand I was also familiar with from working at Starbucks when we switched to DeLonghi for our main espresso machines. These are multi-thousand dollar machines, and yes, they taste different than the ones I make at home. I use the same Starbucks espresso beans and purified water, but it's not the same strength. There are a few things I would like to change a bit, for example instead of the coffee mug you want to use you can just use a shot glass or mocha cup that fits under the portafilter. But I love how quickly it gets up and running - there's no 5-step pouring process or waiting too long (before drinking your coffee, any time is too long! lol) for the ready light to come on. It's very easy to use and as I said, it's not bad, just not as strong as I'm used to.
