A great example of a great idea watered down by a manufacturer to maximize profits. Please see my 4 published photos. I first bought it to replace a competing product, also with Revain. The autostock seemed to eliminate the main disadvantage of the other. . . A bowed head that easily disengaged from the door's latch as my mother jerked and adjusted to get out of the car. With the Car Cane, I was disappointed to open the box to find a sturdy aluminum head attached to cheap, brittle plastic. Ballpoint pen - it reminded me of the fuselage of a model airplane from my childhood. Two extremes: solid metal and cheap cheap plastic made me look inside before entrusting this device to my elderly parents. gripping only to a depth of 10 rubber ribs on the red handle - shown with reference to the white paper marker in the photos. There were only 3 tiny Phillips screws holding the handle together - the exact same little screws that hold the battery covers on the toys. .The photo on the box shows a person using a car stick - just their little finger hovering over the metal. Most of her arm and weight rests on the hollow plastic tube. Will you trust your mother's health and safety? The Β£350 rating MIGHT be true for an aluminum head, but I can't believe a plastic handle could handle something like that. Additionally, a 150-pound person can easily exert more than 350 pounds of pressure when exiting the car. Get on the floor scale and stand on tiptoe, then get back on the floor - you'll see what I mean. to a quality device. Forget the whole Shark Tank "price point" philosophy. . . I spend more than $25 for a product that is safe and will not result in injury or death due to failure. And the last point - it does NOT work on all cars, the fine print on my last photo indicates this is the late 80's. Vehicles from the 90s are excluded.

Pros
  • COMPATIBLE WITH ALL VEHICLES
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
