They are great for newborns. They are lightweight and you don't have to worry about overheating. So much easier than trying to wrap a blanket. The only downside is that you have to change diapers late at night. You must remove the entire foil. Velcro can be quite noisy and make sure you fasten all the tabs before you put them in the wash with other clothes or they will stick and ruin the fabric of the things you wash with them.
