Review on Children's longboard Ridex Tokyo 40.2", 40.2x9, blue/black/purple by Aneta Ambroziak ᠌

Expectations were not met, average quality.

I bought this board for 4898. with the expectation that I will experiment on it, set the backlight (for security purposes), etc. For this money - it's not a pity. After the purchase, the first thing I did was to disassemble the suspension and add a little thick grease to the suspension cups so that they would not creak. He removed the anthers and separators from the bearings, washed off the thick factory grease, assembled and lubricated with a special liquid lubricant. They rolled much better. I added one washer (speedring) to each hub (spacer) to increase the distance between the bearings in the wheels. The balls in the bearings stopped being clamped and began to rotate normally. I put wheels with an offset axle on the front suspension so that the rear was more stable. Under the nuts for attaching the suspension to the deck, I put washers of a slightly larger diameter, because the stock ones are too small and push through the deck wood. In the future, I will replace the bearings with hybrid ones, and instead of the crooked stock wheels with a hardness of 78A, I will put the same size, but a little harder. I can recommend this long buy only if the design is critical for you and you are ready to invest some more money and time in bearings, wheels and so on. Otherwise, I advise you to look at more expensive boards from reputable brands (although you will also have to dance with them, but not so much). In stock, this board is quite problematic, instead of pleasure from riding it brings discomfort and is definitely NOT SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS. If you have ever stood on a good, high-quality board, and then stand on this board, you will immediately feel the difference. But, after bringing "to mind", it will be very good!

Pros
  • 1. Nice design. 2. Quality print. 3. Seems to be good pendants (but this is not accurate, time will tell). 4. The skin is not particularly "evil". For me, this is a plus. 5. The soundboard has a slight flex.
Cons
  • 1. Not the most successful shape of the cutouts for the wheels - the deck can break in thin places. 2. Bearings are so-so. Some spin smoothly and some don't. 3. The cores in the wheels keep the bearings farther apart than they need to be. Because of this, when tightening the wheel nut, the balls are clamped in the bearings. This greatly worsens the rolling and catastrophically reduces the life of the bearings. 4. Two of the four wheels have the axle center displaced.
