Disclaimer: I received this product for free through Vine. I wanted to use the WIFI adapter with an old desktop computer to use with my mobile phone's mobile hotspot function. I am happy to report that this USB WIFI adapter works great. This adapter uses the Realtek 8812BU chip and the adapter comes with drivers for Windows, Mac and Linux on the included MiniCD. I tested it with WinXP, Win7 and Win10 and the driver on the CD that came with it installed and worked great with each of them. . It easily connects to both the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bands. Using the USB 2.0 port, I got download speeds of 200Mbps from my Xfinity service at 400Mbps through the wireless router. From my phone's mobile hotspot, the download speed was 33 Mbps. I was able to get a good signal from the downstairs router to the WiFi adapter in the basement. I'm not sure about the reliability and durability of this device but for now it works perfectly and I'm very satisfied.
