Good for very light paper
You can put files, papers or similar items in bookend. But I don't' think you can put books in it. Anything heavy that leans will spread hold wider let it fall. There should be a locking screw that you can hold a certain width in place.It's not made of the heaviest weight material. But as i stated it can be used for smaller, lighter items.
