I bought this product because the sound quality from my TV's auxiliary output was very poor. I use a set of 2.1 Logitech Z623 speakers and the sound I got from the TV through these speakers was rubbish. All highs, no mids, no bass. To fix this I bought this box and plugged my Chromecast directly into the box which then goes to the TV. Now I have really good audio quality with my Chromecast! I'm not sure if this is a common situation, but just in case it seems like why you're getting this box, here are a few things to keep in mind: 1) The only option is volume to control with it The setting is made by entering your device in this field. In my case, I'm using it for Chromecast, which means I can only adjust the volume from my phone while casting. Because the video bypasses this set-top box, the sound output from the set-top box is not controlled by the TV (or whatever output device you are using). 2) There is a very small delay between the set top box and the output device. If I had to guess, I'd say there's a 100ms delay between audio and video output. The sound is ahead of the video. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this product. It suits my needs and I haven't had any problems with it since I bought it about 3 months ago.
