I've been looking for an affordable microscope with special features (zoom, tripod, Barlow lenses, etc.) for a few months. Since I'll only be using it as a side hobby, I can't justify spending $500 or more on a microscope. I found this early on in my search but I wanted to educate myself to make sure I know what I really need. I kept coming back to this microscope. Until I finally got it. It came super fast. My only complaint was that the part that attaches the boom post to the base had broken bolts. It was easy to attach with a couple of washers and longer screws so it didn't matter much. The microscope itself works much better than I expected! It was almost half the price of everyone else for the same features and works flawlessly. Well what do I use it for? I'm not an expert on microscopes. But the picture is clear, the zoom is amazing! It's easy to customize! Ring light perfectly attenuates and brightens. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. I'm so glad I didn't talk my way out of it again! If that's why you're undecided... Take it! You will not be disappointed. I love it and only use it for a hobby that I don't want to make money from. That surprised even me!
