Review on EVGA Supernova Platinum Warranty 220 P2 0750 X1 by Tony Blanco

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable rock at an affordable price.

My latest power supply (brand not listed to protect the innocent) was causing random crashes which I couldn't track down until I noticed my games were crashing when I turned on the AC. I grimaced as I immediately realized that the part I had made cheaper hoping to get away with it was my downfall. Sign up for SuperNOVA. 80+Platinum, that's a full 5 metal grades higher than my old bronze, meaning it's at least 3 civilization epochs more efficient. It's completely modular, which means that a cable for floppy disks or whatever I haven't used before doesn't have to be hidden in the bottom of the case, even if nobody sees it anyway. But seriously, 10 years. Warranty. It's solid. Tells you they stand behind the part that really matters. Has that solved my problem now? Yes, that's right. Immediately after the swap, I was able to get through 2 hours of Fortnite without crashing, which I couldn't before. It usually takes off in 15-20 minutes. The next day I spent a few hours in Subnautica and then a little bit in Elite Dangerous. No crashes. So yes, don't skimp on your kids' power supplies. It's an investment in your future health as well as your wallet as you'll still have to replace it in the future but only after you've gone insane and tried reinstalling drivers and changing all the BIOS settings and undervoltage and undervoltage . RAM frequency and think you're going crazy. Yes, take this one. It's good.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
