Review on 🕐 CASIO G-Shock GG1000-1A5 Quartz Watch with Resin Strap - Beige, 30 by Brittany Howard

After wearing this watch for several days, I am confident that I can give an honest and thorough evaluation of this product. The overall design and build quality of this watch is excellent, although I'm not surprised given G-Shock's long history of making nearly indestructible products. This is a massive watch, although it appears to be smaller than it really is. Looks good on my somewhat small wrists. The GG-1000 is packed with many useful features, including a compass and thermometer. I found the compass to be extremely accurate, showing both course and grade. A thermometer is useful, but the user must take the watch off for a few minutes to get an accurate reading. However, the watch also has flaws that contributed to the lower score. The negative image is almost unreadable in low light conditions. Although the GG-1000 has an LED at the 6 o'clock position, it does not illuminate the LCD displays. However, it provides enough light to read analog hands at night. Also, it's difficult to see LCD screens when analog hands are in the way. The only way to solve this problem is to awkwardly tilt the watch to try to look under the hands, or just wait for the analog dials to move on their own over time. It would be useful for G-Shock to include a feature that allows the user to remove their hands from the two screens. Overall I am impressed with the durability and functionality of the watch. If you are looking for a quality and stylish watch, I wouldn't let these small flaws put you off purchasing this product. ***UPDATE*** Having owned this watch for a few months I am in serious trouble. The analog hands lose time while the digital display remains accurate. Hands lose about 5 minutes a day. This problem can be temporarily solved by setting the hands to the correct time, but they will start losing time immediately after the hands are set correctly. So I am changing my previous 4 star rating to 3 stars. I will contact Casio directly to resolve this issue. Once I have done this I will provide an additional update.
