When I first got my water bottle, a few drops spilled here and there, even with the cap screwed on tightly. However, not enough water came out at first that I thought it would make a big difference as it only leaked when it was upside down or sideways and even then only a few drops. Since I always keep my water bottle upright I figured that would be ok. Then a few weeks after I got it, I put the water bottle on the nightstand by the bed where my laptop was. Somehow while I was in the kitchen preparing dinner the water bottle fell sideways onto the bed (or maybe it was knocked over by my cat) and the WHOLE thing leaked onto my laptop and mattress! I returned to a soaked, completely dead MacBook Pro and had to shell out $1,600 for a replacement. This is the worst water bottle I've ever bought and it's nowhere near leak proof! Seriously, whatever you do, don't put it near electronics and don't throw it in a bag with other things you're carrying around. This thing will ruin your stuff and your bank account!
