We have a small caravan (only £2900 empty, maybe £3700 fully loaded). We are actually under the weight limit for this hitch. My husband installed it in one day with no problems. The trailer definitely makes more noise around corners than our old trailer (lots of squeaks and grunts), but apparently that's normal. I often tow the trailer myself and it is important to be able to do all the steps of hitching and lifting the trailer myself. We have found that if the hitch is over adjusted (ie tractor and trailer forming an upward triangle on the hitch) the pins are almost impossible to remove. To facilitate removal while leaving the trailer hitched to the vehicle, raise the tongue with a tongue jack to relieve pressure on the pivots. I can do it with no problems. We've now driven it 3,000 miles and the hitch really helped with the swaying on windy days and the swaying that occurs when a truck passes you on the freeway. I'm glad we bought it.
