The kittens have scratched the carpet and in a year they are very strong. I don't like carpet, but I don't think my landlord deserves to ruin the carpet because of it. They don't seem very interested in my vertical scrapers so I was hoping they would pick these and they are! The carpet is safe and the kittens are very happy - they can really stick their claws in it and ride it to town. They also like to take breaks by sitting on it like on a throne. :) I love that it breaks into 3 pieces so I can use them around the apartment. If you think your kittens are more of a ground cat than a tree cat, I would highly recommend them.
