Overview: Sony DVP-FX970 9 inch portable DVD player. ------------------------------ 4.50 HOURS battery life with default backlight setting 10 of 1-20 (full screen). HOURS of battery life with backlight setting 5 from 1-20 (full screen). 5.50 HOURS battery life with backlight setting 1 of 1-20 (full screen). RATING: --------- We have had this and its predecessor for many years and I highly recommend it. I highly recommend paying more for this 9-inch version than the 7-inch version, the extra screen real estate is worth it. SOUND through speakers or headphones is EXCELLENT for such a portable player. The curve is great for airplanes and cars to get over the slanted airplane seats in front of you and over the car's rear seat mounts, forcing the back cover (screen) to extend further than necessary for the best, most natural image curved angle. Very nice, strong to the touch, well built. A display with a resolution of 800 x 480, which is considered high resolution (even the Sony portable Blu-ray player has a resolution of 800 x 480). Before you buy, be aware of the differences between Sony portable player models :) .- Some versions have hinges, some don't. and pictures are sometimes (I think) inadvertently misleading in this regard.
