I spoke to a friend who has a Berkey filter and she ran a simple test recommended by the manufacturer. The test is done by adding red food coloring to the top of the device where the filters are, filling the device and seeing if the red food coloring filters out. She told me this because her test failed and when I got home I tried the same thing. Mine failed too. It has been properly primed, properly seeded with a washing machine and still does not filter the red dye. There is no way to return the product and get help, so please DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY!
