Blocks the wind but blocks the sound.

I've worn this under a mountain bike helmet 3 times in the last week and it's great for blocking wind and keeping the hood warm. The biggest problem is that it increases trail noise, so there's a lot of wind and rolling noise coming off the bike and you can't hear your fellow riders even if they're yelling at you. You have to turn your ear to them to hear. If that's the only downside, then it's not too bad, especially for the price.
