Even though these are for men and I'M a woman, I bought them because the padding is gel and the price point is great. They're pretty comfortable. My hips are 39" and the Large is comfortable and roomy in the crotch area when I ride.I gave them 4 stars because the back side rides so low on the hips. I have a little more butt than a man but I don't imagine these giving much better backside coverage even for a man with little or no butt. I wear long t-shirts that rest below my hips so the low-riding back doesn't bother me too much, especially considering the price point.
