This camera exceeded all my expectations. The original Elphs had a 3x optical zoom, but this one has an amazing 10x zoom that goes from 24mm to 240mm. Note that the 24mm lens is wide-angle, which is nice. There's also image stabilization, which is great for telephoto lenses. In automatic mode, the camera selects a scene and adapts to it. Some reviewers felt the screen didn't have enough resolution, but I found it very acceptable and wouldn't complain about it. The picture quality is really excellent.
