The fabric is nice and thick. This is a well designed garment. The waistband is wide and has a wide elastic band. It's not sewn on, but is the same width as the waistband, so should stay in place. Even after multiple wears and washes, it stayed in place. I can pin it later with a few stitches. This is a beautiful skirt. The layered look is playful and fun. It is also very convenient for a little girl who will walk, ride and climb. I usually prefer shorts, but A for Awesome also makes some shorts that go well with them. They have the same blue and yellow colors.
