Review on πŸ‘  Capezio Women's 650 Student Footlight Character Shoe – Enhancing Footwear for Dancers by Sierra Moore

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Ouch! hard skin. The size is pretty close to street size.

The leather on the Student Footlight frame is quite stiff and definitely needs to be broken in. I hope it softens quickly as it warms up after wear. My actual shoe size is 9AAA, but I often wear 8 1/2 N because I rarely find 9AAA. In the Spotlight Jr. I wear a 9 1/2 N. When trying to decide what size to go for the Footlight Student I was wondering if the fit of the Footlight Jr. would be similar and I have to say that the Student closer to street size. Based on my experience with Jr. Footlight, I ordered Student in sizes 9N and 9 1/2N and both were too long. The shoes appear to be quite narrow for those who are wondering. I think the width will be ok once I got the right length. I didn't notice a significant difference in the cushioning/insole on either shoe. High density foam, poor arch support. Not a comfortable shoe underfoot, but that could be because it's made for dancing and they assume the wearer wants to "feel" the ground through the shoe. Compared to jr. The added 1/2 inch heel height in Student Footlight really changes the line of your feet and makes your feet look even better on stage or elsewhere.

Pros
  • Compatible with TeleTone Toe, Duo-Tone Heel or Selva Staccato Cone
Cons
  • It's OK
