None of the spring mics I have tried from Zoom, Rode or Deity have impressed or impressed me but this is the best so far. It has good sound quality and the bonus is the ability to use an AA battery for phantom power. I love Rode and have one of their large diaphragm condenser mics so I trust this company. They try to make the best products they can without all the nonsense. There are better mics out there but not for the money this one is worth. In addition, it really is a classic weapon microphone. This mic has had a lot of work and reviews so you know what you are getting with this mic and that is important if you don't want to bet on an unfamiliar brand or design.
