Review on Dali Oberon Bookshelf Speaker Walnut by Julie Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

not the past, but an explosion

The Dali Oberon 3 speaker harks back to the glory days of the big bookshelf speakers of the '70s and '80s, but with a transparency rare for the time. Nobody wanted a tiny 5.25 inch woofer with their Japanese receiver (many of which are now collectible). The larger tweeter and 7-inch woofer provide the Oberon 3's powerful sound, but the subwoofer is still needed for real weight in the lower octaves. . The sound has a harmonic richness that you just don't get from small monitors. If you have the space for it, I can't think of any other speaker I'd rather have at this price point.

Pros
  • The OBERON woofer magnet's iron pole is topped with a patented SMC disk, minimizing the negative effects of iron.
Cons
  • Style 90
