My son has sensitive feet. He hates standard socks with their thick seams. Well, I was like that as a kid, so I sympathize with him. He calls these socks the most comfortable socks he has ever worn and we are very happy with them. Keep in mind that if your child has very strong tactile sensitivity, you might prefer some sort of seamless tube sock instead. These socks are not tube socks. These are "regular" shaped socks - ones that have something like the outline of the foot woven into the sock itself. I like them because they look like regular men's socks. and my son can wear them with shorts and other kids don't think he wears unusual socks. However, the only way to get this shape is by incorporating and removing stitches in the pattern of the sock itself. There will also be an area where the manufacturer will hand knit some knitting loops. Without these techniques, you wouldn't get the shape you expect from regular socks. I mention this because a child with very strong tactile sensitivity can be sensitive to even the slight changes in texture that these shaping methods cause, even when there is no seam. If this applies to your child, you probably need socks that don't have toes or heels woven into the sock - look for ones that which consist of a straight tube that goes around the heel and toe without creating seams. Personally, I think this type of socks is more like women's stockings, that's why I like Jefferies socks more - they look like real sports socks. If your child has mild to moderate tactile sensitivity, these socks should be for you!
