What I like about it: 1) It's aesthetic (ie it looks nice) 2) It's simple, easy and understandable to use 3) Distance and easy reinstallation of filters. 4) Of the 4 fan speeds (1 is the lowest and 4 is the highest), speeds 1 and 2 are quiet. Barely audible. Speeds 3 and 4 are louder than a vacuum cleaner. But these speeds suck in and blow out a lot of air. 5) Indicators on the control panel show the quality (or lack thereof) of the air. Blue is best, green is good, yellow is bad, and red is worst. PM2.5 means particulate matter of 2.5 microns (or less). This is an indicator of air quality. A lower number means better air quality and a higher number means poorer air quality. A sensor on the back of the machine measures these particles in the air around the machine. For example, a value of 5 would mean that there are 5 micrograms of particles 2.5 microns or smaller in size per cubic meter of air. The PM2.5 index gives you a more accurate idea of air quality, while the colored indicators on the panel give you a relative overall range. For example, on my car, a blue light indicates that the air contains between 0 and 15 micrograms of 2.5 micron particles per cubic meter of air. But the PM2.5 index reading shows exactly where you are in that range, like 5 or 13 micrograms per cubic meter of air. 7) The car has a remote control. I can control its functions from my lounge chair. 8) The car has a timer. You can control how long the device stays on (in 1-hour increments) before it turns off - from 1 to 12 hours (the dirtier the air, the higher the fan speed.) 10) The company was very responsive. I contacted them once before I bought the car and 2 or 3 times after. They responded to my emails promptly (either same day or next day). In contrast, when I contacted Nuwave about their Oxypure device, I received no response from them at all, which is consistent with other consumers who have also complained about Nuvave's lack of response. Cons: 1) It's expensive. 2) Changing the filter is expensive. . And while the filter prices are competitive with other brands (about $60 per filter), you need TWO filters for this machine (ie about $120 to replace filters). What I would like to improve: 1) Timer. I would change the timer to show how much time actually remains after setting the timer. Here's how the timer currently works: Suppose you set the timer for 2 hours. The display shows the PM2.5 index rating for about 10 seconds, then 2 flashes for about 2 seconds (for 2 hours). Let's say 10 minutes have passed. Instead of flashing 1 hour 50 minutes, the timer will continue to flash 2. It will continue to flash 2 until 1 hour is up, at which point the display will flash 1 (indicating the timer has 1 hour left). I would change the timer to actually show the time left before the machine turns off. So if you set the timer to 2 hours, after 20 minutes the timer should show 1 hour 40 minutes instead of showing 2.2. I would add another air quality sensor (PM2.5 index monitor) to measure air delivery in addition to measuring air quality and air supply. This gives the user an idea of the effectiveness of the filters. So, for example, if the PM2.5 index for IN shows 17 and OUT shows 5, you know your filters are working. And over time, you expect the IN and OUT readings to even out (as the air is filtered, the air quality should improve so that the IN air readings will eventually match, or at least get close to, the OUT air quality readings) . Performance: Usually the air quality in the place where I parked my car is around 5 (excellent air quality). The highest I saw was 13. But for the most part my PM2.5 index hovered around 5. I roasted some ribs once. When I opened the furnace, all the smoke poured into the atmosphere. I turned on the machine and the PM2.5 index reading was 999 and the fan speed hit its max speed. After about 15 minutes, the PM2.5 index started to drop and the fan speed changed from 4 to 3 after about 40 minutes. It took about an hour for the indicator to return to 5. Overall I would recommend this air purifier. It's easy to use, works well, and the company was very quick to respond to my questions.
