The first time I tried them on I almost returned them because they were so tight. I managed to put them on once and wear them for a day or two, but they fit perfectly. I think the problem might be that they were laced up on arrival. The laces started kinking after a month, so I replaced them with zippers. This makes them very easy to put on and take off and very comfortable. I've worn boots as my main shoe for many years (I'm a biker) and they're still my favorite. Added: I've been wearing them daily for a year and a half now. They are still strong, but the caterpillars are getting a little thinner. I'm considering getting another pair at any time. :) I wholeheartedly recommend the Ironlace laces and unisex 8-eye zippers (both available here) for easy on and off.
