About 8 months ago I dislocated my elbow very badly. I was in a splint for a while and then in a corset for 2 months which restricted my movements. I also had to go to physical therapy twice a week for 2 months. I lead a very active lifestyle and I needed a way to exercise. Weightlifting was off for 2 months so I started running as soon as my physical therapist cleared me for aerobics. I couldn't run with a brace even though my physical therapist recommended I wear one (it was bulky and heavy) so I bought this brace to wear instead of a brace while running. Running without support was painful. All the jumping was causing pain in my injured elbow and it was too hard for me to keep it bent because I had lost so much muscle. With that, my elbow was firm enough that jumping didn't hurt. It was difficult at first to keep the elbow bent, but definitely easier than without a brace. As soon as I was allowed to lift weights, I started lifting, again with assistance. I use it to this day. My elbow has never fully recovered and unfortunately never will fully recover. Because of my injury, I sometimes still feel pain the day after I get up. It's hard to judge how much it helps because I never climb without it, but I believe it helps. At least it gives me the confidence to do the exercises without which I wouldn't have the confidence. All in all a great product. If you have an elbow injury, it won't completely fix the problem, but it will help you recover.
