This is a great mechanical food thermometer at a great price. I use it to make yogurt. Ignore the reviews that this is inaccurate. This is a mechanical food thermometer. This means that you must physically calibrate it when you receive it. The easiest way I know of is to boil a pot of water, dip the thermometer at least 3 inches into the boiling water, and adjust the nut under the dial with pliers or a wrench. Turn the nut clockwise to increase the reading and counterclockwise to decrease the reading. Stop when 212ยฐF/100ยฐC is displayed.
