The tool comes with 1 pre-charged battery and a charger, plus some accessories so I was able to use as soon as I received it.The accessories are standard size, so it is easy and inexpensive to get replacements.I used the low speed for applying the compound, at that low speed, I did not apply any pressure as the tool uses little power.Then to polish and remove the dry compound I changed the pad and used the max speed.

There is enough power at that speed for me to apply some pressure, but not too much so I did not damage the paint and clear coat.The scratch tried to work on (caused by someone with the key) is too deep to completely disappear, but it looks better already.Next, I will polish the roof of a 2009 black BMW 128i, the Texas sun has been cruel on it. I believe that this tool will make the task much easier.
