I bought these to wear with a batik mini dress/tunic. I'm in my 60's so wouldn't wear it as a dress. These leggings not only made this outfit look great, but they made me feel great! They're SUPER SOFT! I'm 5'4" and normally wear an 8-10. I got these in small. They're not tight at all, in fact, they fit slightly loose through the legs without being baggy. The ankles are tight enough that they don't ride up, without being constrictive. They're super stretchy so they hug without binding. I imagine if I were heavier they would fit tighter and be a bit see through because they really are very light weight. So I'm please with the way they fit and look. No see through at all for me. I would suggest size large if you normally wear above a size 12. The waist band is just simple thin elastic encased in the same material as the leggings. Nothing fancy, but it stays put. As for the softness.there are no words to describe it! You have to keep looking down to make sure you're wearing pants because you really cannot feel them! I love the softness so much that I sleep in them. If you're looking for a heavy weight legging that controls your jiggles, these are not for you. If you prefer relaxed, light weight comfort for warm weather layering, you need to get them in several colors. One pair won't be enough once you put them on.
