Review on High-Quality Mimi Replacement Screen for Black iPad Mini: Touch Screen Digitizer, IC Chip, Home Button, and Flex Cable Assembly by Joe Merculief

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I often change the screen and this one is bad.

I change screens a lot but this one is bad. Cons: The packaging is terrible compared to what I usually see. Thin bubble wrap sandwiched between two thin pieces of cardboard. There's no smart coverage sensor, so don't plan on using it. You have to tape all of the exposed metal onto the ribbon cable or it will short out and cause problems (most screens are like that). Pros: It works if you get past the issues and that's the only reason it gets 2 stars because I've been able to get it to work and I've seen worse. I would recommend just taking the iPad mini to a professional if you are inexperienced. Something to keep in mind when replacing iPad mini screens yourself is to disconnect the battery before the LCD and digitizer, otherwise you could run into trouble. The iPad mini is EXTREMELY finicky. If your LCD stops working, restart your iPad in iTunes. If that doesn't work, you may need to flip the fuse (instructions can be found online).

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Safety
