We've been looking for a compact dishwasher for a long time. For the last two years we have been living in a camper van constantly with three children under 7 and manually washing all the dishes that our team go through. What was the most important deciding factor (after looking at the top 20 products, prices, features, power consumption (especially since our RV's performance corresponds to a higher commercial price, not a lower residential price), interior space and exterior dimensions)? : that this model is equipped with a child lock. Fun Fact: Almost all tabletop dishwashers are made by the same company and have different controls/faces specific to the brand. But basically they are the same. Midea, maker of the most compact dishwashers, also has limited rights to use the Toshiba name on small appliances, owns vacuum company Eureka, and makes our beloved InstantPot. -Lock to keep our little ones from playing around with it was a selling point. Yes, it sells for a higher price than the "Best Seller", but for us it's worth the extra money. It is currently on the counter and is out of reach for 2/3 of our children. In the future, hopefully sooner or later, I'll be permanently installing it where our propane stove is (since we use other electrical appliances like the sous vide, instant pot, and induction burner) and placing it 100% within the kids room. opportunity to deal with it. Runs quietly on all cycles, with a gentle buzz when washing until water drains and exits. The first few times we were surprised at how noisy the water was. Now we expected it. To be clear, the washing machine itself doesn't make a sound during this part of the cycle, it's the sound of water coming out of the hose adapter and falling into the (wonderfully) empty sink. We can leave it running after we put the kids to bed and they still don't move or complain about the noise. It's enough for our family of five and was easy to install. I had to buy another faucet adapter as my threads were only slightly larger than the adapter that came with it. My threads were 15/16"-27 internal and the included adapter was 55/64"-27 external. But a $3.50 adapter from a local store was all that was needed. Tip: Before you order or it arrives, you can take your current faucet aerator to most hardware stores and they can tell you your required thread and adapter if they add pictures, update regularly, and if any problems arise *knock on wood* generally am I am satisfied with the appearance, functionality and ease of installation.
