Great performance, SLOW PRESSURE!

EDIT 10-6-2016: So I think I've solved the slow printing issue on this printer. It was a printer port. Apparently, the new WSD port technology can be used with some operating systems on newer printers. I felt this was causing my slow typing issues detailed below, and of course I was right. I switched the port to a standard TCP/IP port (Wi-Fi network printing) and what used to take 1 minute per page now takes 10 seconds for 2 pages! I've since changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars. I think it's a Windows problem, not a printer problem. --------------------------------- ------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I recently purchased this printer , as other reviewers have noted, it prints documents very slowly (1 page per minute. Black and white text only). However, I have noticed that it prints slowly from a Windows 10 computer. When I print from my MacBook Pro, it prints much faster. I think it could be the drivers on Windows 10 computers? It could be a DPI issue when trying to print at high DPI by default. I'm saying this because I've also noticed that when printing from a Windows 10 computer compared to my MacBook, the printer's printing sound sounds different (when printing from a Windows 10 computer, it sounds like it's trying to print more to print data per line compared to the MBP). So far I haven't found an option to adjust the DPI settings for print jobs on a Windows computer. I can only adjust the print quality, which is set to "Normal" by default. I'm wondering if Brother took a look at the Win10 drivers, maybe they could fix it? I was tempted to just leave this machine because I was only going to be printing from my Macbook on September 10th anyway. The printer itself is small and compact, which is nice. Takes up less desk space than my previous Canon MX310. 4 ink cartridge Also, the system is much better. I only have to replace one cartridge when necessary. I like the LCD screen feature. I don't need the fax option but I don't like that it doesn't have an ethernet port. Not critical, but I'd rather fax. The duplex printing feature is awesome. According to the printer settings, it also supports duplex scanning, but I haven't used this feature yet (not sure if it's automatic or manual scanning). Setting up the Wi-Fi function as well as installing the printer for my 3 computers went smoothly. Overall I like this printer, but I'll get a little tired of the slow printing. Is my theory correct that this is localized for Windows 10 machines. But as I said, I will be primarily printing from my MacBook so I could live with very slow print jobs, but for most people this could be a deal breaker.
