Review on Wireless headphones Sony WH-1000XM3, silver by Stanislaw Gluszek ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

I had used B&W PX cameras for a year prior to purchase, but I had to return them under warranty (the SC does not repair them), so I chose to go with the Sony WH-1000XM3 instead and have never looked back. Also compared to: Sennheiser Momentum AEBT, Audio-Technica ATH-ANC700BT (didn't like the touch control, lackluster quality; the guitar solo gets lost in the mix) (here rock sounds powerful and driving - but the stage and volume suffer - maybe because of the non-switchable noise reduction) SENSHER PXC550 (sounds like Momentum, non-obvious touch controls, phone app sucks) I listened to the Bose QC35 a year ago as well, and all I can recall is the noise cancellation. However, all alternatives have two shortcomings: no aptX HD and LDAC, and micro-USB charging instead of USB-C. If we contrast it with B&W PX, we may say (and I'll start at the end): 6) B&W comes with a confusing casing that was never useful. 5) The B&W phone's software is incredibly limited; there are only three noise reduction levels available ("office" almost jams nothing, and "street" and "airplane" are almost the same) Even the loudness is hidden. Nothing, however, can be changed without a phone. 4) However, B&W is heavier and exerts more pressure on the head; after a few hours, discomfort developed. 3) When you place your palm on a Sony device, music is muted and conversations are amplified. Although B&W had installed sensors, I disabled them since they were unreliable. 2) Sony's noise cancellation is superior - tested in the kitchen hood, a noisy airport café, the plane, and the taxi - significantly quieter, and the midrange choke was noticeably stronger (from the hood there is a slight rustle on the treble) 1) Compared to closed headphones, the sound is the best in terms of loudness and stage (Well, of course, it does not depend on the signal source) Practically, noise reduction does not degrade the sound; the only calm environment where a little variation in depth and loudness may be heard is one. A moderate amount of bass is added. Good enough level of detail, but save the ears. Fantastic sound that is both engaging and not cold, and one that doesn't wear you out after a while of listening.

Pros
  • 1) Sound 2) Reduction of noise 3) Touch panel controls are simple. 4) Comfortable on the head (5) Phone app 6) Case comprised
Cons
  • There are no noteworthy ones for me. They don't look as impressive as B&W PX Soft Gold, but their advantages much outweigh this (for each item, the winnings for Sony are higher)
