I actually had these two items separately so it's nice to see them packaged and they are so good I love them. have a backup. They're different. The one with the blade as an extension of the handle is clearly best for potatoes, and the T-shaped one is clearly best for shaving strips of eggplant skin. No other knife in the world can compete with these two. Note that the straight has a very typical OXO grip. You can take it off if you want to drain it, but I just put the whole thing upside down in the dishwasher so I don't have to worry about water getting in there in the first place. It's worth noting that the OXO has a set of three T-blades, the other two are for shredding strips (all three are slightly different and used differently) in case that's your preference. You can't go wrong here.
