Easy to use. makes VTA and azimuth set up easy
Nothing to say about the clear plastic block with lines on it other than it looks pretty well made and it even comes in a nice storage bag to keep it in pristine form . VTA tuning is best done by ear, but the Hudson alignment block allows you to quickly set the tonearm or carriage base parallel to the record as a starting point. I recently switched from a Rega P2 with no VTA adjustment to a Technics SL-1500c which has it. Being able to swap cartridges easily is great, but being able to quickly see and install a VTA as it's happening requires guesswork about some of the cartridge alignment.
