This item is amazing. It takes some training to set up, but after a few tweaks it becomes a lot easier to manage. While the zoom feature isn't a main reason I chose it, it works quite well. You don't actually need to adjust the telescope tube if you move the lens just a little further. It's all part of the learning curve. Great idea for a product. I had a lot of fun using this with my phone's 13MP camera. Clarity is excellent, especially in HDR mode. When setting up the camera, you'll need to zoom in a bit to enlarge the image to fit the screen. But with some adjustments, this tool becomes extremely interesting and useful. Whether you're a gardener who likes to look for little bugs or something else on your plant's leaves, or a hobbyist who likes to stop and take in the world around you, this phone magnifier is a great addition. While it doesn't have a very high magnification, it's enough to see a world you would never see with the naked eye. Speaking of eyes, people with vision problems have it much easier with pocket monoculars. In my opinion it's better than a jeweler's loupe but not as powerful as a good pocket microscope. I'd rather take an HD picture and look at it later than try to look at things under a microscope. Much easier and the color is also clearer (image compared to microscope). My photos contain pixels from my LCD TV, my eyeball and match heads in one package, all from that area. Hope it helps more of you in this wonderful purchase. Great cheap gift.
