More or less as described - foam not all that light - but it worked what I wanted. I pulled the light base out of the sticks, threw away the foam and repurposed the light base for the costumes. The base of the LED lamp is smaller in diameter than the wand itself, maybe an inch wide, which is what I needed. It is on a plastic disc that can be cut. The base can be opened with a small Phillips screwdriver to change the batteries inside and there are two very bright white LEDs built into the top. I'm giving one star less because one of the six sticks isn't working properly, flickering on and off on impact and also because I was expecting more LEDs in the stick itself due to the way the photo is rendered with brighter hotspots in the rise in the middle.
