This is one of those rare instances where a product has completely exceeded my expectations. My 2009 Ford Ranger armrest was ripped out of a crappy plastic base. This is a common problem and the Ford replacement part is also plastic. There is a great video on YouTube showing the installation of this Dorman replacement and the installation was even easier than the video (no need to fat cut the old hinge - it just slides out). The Dorman kit includes a new metal base, all the parts needed (to make a new hinge and bolt the base to the armrest cushion) and clear instructions. Find a YouTube video to learn how to remove a hinge/bracket that is not covered in the instructions. The Dorman kit is much better quality (metal vs plastic) than the stock Ford part and cheaper too. This is great stuff and a simple fix to a common quality issue.
