Review on ๐Ÿ’ง iSpring CU A4 White Water Filter by Edwin Cen

Questionable filter quality

I have been using this filter for more than a year and I am satisfied with its consumption, taste and reliability. A big BUT as I later got curious to learn more about what this thing actually filtered out. I contacted the company and they provided a chart showing what is being filtered out which looks like a DIY chart and it did NOT mention filtering the substances they advertise such as: B. arsenic, iron, nickel, chromium, cadmium, calcium, aluminum. , Mercury. This worried me that I was using a filter that doesn't filter really well and that it might be introducing harmful chemicals from the system itself, because if you read the ad carefully it says "parts are made to exact specifications." FDA and NSF /ANSI standards for water safety and quality.โ€ I wrote to the company asking if the filter was NSF certified as "made to specificationโ€ could be a semantic way of implying certification without actually being to an industry quality standard to be certified. There was no reply from the company. After further research on the internet, discovered a few years ago, this company lost a lawsuit in which they advertised that they were "Made in the USA" even though they didn't meet the requirements and they had to change the marketing. For a full disclaimer this filter can be excellent and does what is advertised, I have never tested filtered water. All these schemes convinced me that this filter is no longer worth using due to unknown health risks and lack of credibility. I hope that the transfer of this experience and research will help.

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
