I have a good collection of these "little slot machines" and was amazed at how faithful they were to the "real" ones. " are games. I recently bought Pole Position; It's my absolute favorite game from the early 80's and I've played enough with the real car to "win" the game (finish the race on lap 3). When I started this little machine, I was ecstatic. to familiar sights and sounds. But when I went to play I found there were no gears; It's just a speed. This is a complete departure from the original, which required careful timing of high-to-low shifts to speed up cornering. While the animations and sounds are decent, I literally won the game and finished the last race the FIRST time I played it. It's incredibly easy. Of course I can forgive the lack of a real steering wheel; no problem. But without high and low gears, the game looks completely different from the original (which is not the case with other "mini" arcade games). I still recommend it and enjoy having it as part of the collection, but keep in mind that these are really apples-to-oranges from the original version.
