This valve looks fine on the surface. And if you blow both ends "before" installing it seems to work fine. BUT if you do that Valve Tighten To ensure that air doesn't leak around the threads (even when using pipe thread tape), "SOMETHING" goes wrong and it doesn't seal (preventing air from flowing back into the compressor), resulting in a very difficult or even tight fit will not start, which can damage the motor IMHO, SOMETHING could be that when you tighten the valve, it deforms the hole inside and prevents the valve from seating properly, leaving you with a tedious installation with poor results and damaging the compressor motor could if you don't stand right there to turn it off amazon sent me a duplicate as a replacement same problem finally went to grainger and bought another brand. Works great. VIAIR should solve the problem.
