I have not used them for children's clothing
I recently moved to a new house and found the upstairs closet was too narrow to fit full size hangers without rotating them at an angle, which I felt do not like. Luckily I found them and they were the biggest hangers I could find but they weren't quite full/standard size. They fit perfectly in the closet, but are wide enough to comfortably hang a coat. The clips on these hangers were an added bonus for keeping our stuff in place and not falling off. They are exactly 14.5 inches wide.
