Bought these to accent a similarly finished ceiling fan in our master bedroom. They look great and are very easy to put on. The problem was that the wood stain and wood were very, very cheap and used to wear out my hands and our sheets as I worked. I just put the shelves on the bed and assembled them with my hands so the image of the stain on the sheets is literally just them sitting there. I'm a little apprehensive about cleaning them with a spray based cleaner for fear of the stain coming off completely. Because of this, I definitely wouldn't use shelves to store fabric things like towels. We don't use them for that, though, so it doesn't matter.
