I tested it with boiling water and the result was within the reasonable range of the expected range. As a hobby chef, that suits me just fine. It's actually nice not having to guess if my burgers are medium rare, done, or well done. When it comes to frying, it always takes time to get used to a new oven. Considering I move about every 5 years, this helped me figure out how long it takes to cook a steak that damn fast. I still assume that this inexpensive temperature sensor will break at any moment, but it seems to be holding up. it's all right. I've seen fancier sensors that cost five times as much. I don't see that they are any different. Maybe they are more accurate, but in my opinion it's not so much about accuracy as it is about getting closer to my cooking style.
