Every morning I light a menorah. It provides the perfect quality and amount of light for my prayer time. I save a lot of money over using wax cone candles. It took me a bit of learning to find a good system to use these wicks, but I found them to be of very stable quality. I can use these wicks twice (about 2 hours for each use). I'm sure others have other ways of using them, but here's my process: 1) Fill the oils to the brim, 2) Insert a new wick into the disc, leaving about 1/4 inch (40%) open from above . 3) Hold the wick by the head with your fingers and slightly lower it into the oil bowl (silver side up) and light it immediately to avoid tipping over. 4) Repeat the process until all cups light up. 5) When finished, do not leave wicks in oil bowls. Use needle nose pliers. Remove burning wicks from oil cans one at a time and extinguish and place in a container for next use. 1/4" and then toss each wick into the refilled oil cups and light. 7) At the end of the second use, use needle nose pliers to take each burning wick and extinguish it (make sure the flame is out! ), and then throw them in the trash. Please note that cutting and reusing the wicks can be a bit messy for the second use, and you don't want ash and oil residue left on your fingers, clothes, etc. So always have a tissue handy to wipe clean Before reusing, remove the oil from the disc and wipe the ash and oil off your fingers Sometimes one of the burning wicks in the cup will tip over and go out This doesn't happen often, however I've found that you can pull it out with the tip of a needle, wipe off the silver side of the disc and shape the disc with your fingers so it's slightly concave and lower it back into the cup and light it again.
