When I bought this machine I made it clear to the store where I bought it that I I don't want to have the internet connected as I use it to scan documents, pay taxes, etc. They assured me that all I had to do was turn it off. However, they told me that I would not be able to get new ink when needed, which was a benefit of the machine. I told them I didn't care that I didn't need an internet connection and also the item was cheap so the ink wasn't a problem. So I used it for about a month until one day it's a machine! - told me that he would not work anymore. Why? Because I didn't connect it to the internet! So now when you buy something, the company that makes the thing has complete control, and if you don't do as you're told, they just park your car.
