The main thing that the pandemic has taught me is that I really don't have much to do apart from work and school. I originally had a PS2 Slim so I could play my favorite PS1/2 games again until I found PS1 video wasn't working via component cables and PS2 games don't look as good anymore and all PS2 models are having issues to have. with a laser. So I took the plunge and bought a fat PS3 so I could play everything nice and smooth/scaled over HDMI without those pesky laser issues. And it worked great, apart from having to buy headphones to tune into the roar of the console's jet engine. After seeing that 95% of the games I had just spent big bucks to buy physical copies of could be found on the Playstation network for a small price, I realized I needed more storage space, and this disc was specifically recommended by a blog dedicated to PS3 upgrades. The 60GB hard drive my system came with could only hold about 6 PS3 games anyway. Installation was easy, although I removed all four of the original screws on the hard drive case and ended up buying a new one. Insert this disc and the system will boot and download the update file automatically. SSHD works and saves/loads without problems. I should have enough space for all the PS1/2 classics which I'm about to upload. The only thing to note is that the PS3 can't take full advantage of an SSD and that's why I chose SSHD. I'm not sure if the system can handle more than 1TB, but it probably can.
