Two weeks and my cat hasn't run away.Yes. It's shorter on the cat's "torso" than the other brand, but it's safe. I measured my cat to make sure I bought the right size. We were chasing rabbits in the yard yesterday and the garbage truck scared my cat. She jumped from side to side of me, so I didn't have time to react. When she reached the end of the line, she flexed about three feet and landed safely on the ground. The belt does not come off. The dishes did not suffocate them. I took her in my arms, calmed her down, and when the garbage truck left, I took her for a walk and we went to the examination. I would recommend this product. Especially at a great price compared to other brands.
